How Do I Keep My Reusable Shopping Bag Clean in Order to Keep My Family Safe?

By now we should all have our own reusable shopping bag. How do we take care of them since we do not want to get sick from bacteria inside them?

I first tried using paper bags inside and having the checkout clerk put all my meat inside. The problem with this method for me was that the paper bags would get wet and then leak into my reusable grocery bag. This did not appeal to me whatsoever.

2- The second thing I considered was to use large freezer bags but I figured that this would and could get expensive. You can wash these bags out only so many times.

3- Finally what I did for my fresh meat was to get myself resealable vinyl shopping bags that are insulated like the ones used when people go camping. These work exceptionally well since all I need to do when I get home is to turn them inside out and give them a fast wipe with a soft cloth soaked in soap and water. Once they are dry I merely turn them right side in. The fact that they are insulated helps to protect my meat from the hot weather.

4- As for my other groceries personally I have a preference. I like to use more fashion reusable bags purely because everyone seems to have all the same ones and yes I like to stand out, and No I am not afraid to be different. They cost a little more but they are worth the extra cost as they seem to be better built. I think this will extend the life of my bags since I like to over stuff them. When they get dirty I give them a good wash, let them dry well to avoid mildew and that is it.

5- One thing I never do is use these bags to go and buy clothing, or shoes, or anything that is not from a grocery store. Once again I have a nice fashionable reusable shopping bag. This is great for me since I do not need to carry my purse but merely bring my wallet which I toss in my bag. This shopping bag is totally different from my grocery bags.

6- Finally although this may sound like a lot of work it only takes a little time and planning. Once you get your head wrapped around the idea it is very easy. Did I forget to mention that it took me some time to remember to grab my reusable bags before leaving home? My solution was to keep them by the door and this way I would see them as I was heading out. Another thing I did was to always keep two in my car for just in case.

Now get out a pencil and paper – or landscaping software – and map out the spaces, keeping in mind the “lay of the land” and other pertinent factors. For now just make general circles or squares to mark the space for each purpose.

What style you want to use.

Is it formal, informal, country, eclectic? And don’t forget to consider what’s already there, like the architecture of the house or the style of existing fencing. Consider the style of existing structures of curtain rods & window coverings that will stay and how those styles will fit in your plan.

What color palate you’ll use.

Of course you must consider other existing colors: siding and trim on existing buildings and fences, landscaping colors, maybe even the color of a neighbor’s garage if it’s butted up to your yard.

My house is blue with white trim, and that’s what I chose to use for the outdoor d?�cor and interior D?�cor by curtain rods and window coverings: my chair cushions are a great blue floral, the stone deck is colored blue-gray and I just planted one of those gorgeous blue hyacinths next to the neighbor’s white fence. Now, I could have gone with a green palate because there’s so much green in the yard already (grass, trees), but that’s just me.

Now comes the fun – uh, I mean the hard part: shopping for everything you need. And color coordinating and curtain rods & window coverings it. And making sure the styles coordinate. And having friends over to analyze the work (over food and drinks of course). I visited the Long Beach Flea Market and Antiques Fair in Long Beach, California today and was immediately struck by a young man wearing a rosary bead necklace around his neck. (I just saw Justin Combs, P Diddy’s son, wearing one on a TV show just an hour before that).

After walking into the event, I was immediately attracted to a table featuring Rosary Beads, Religious Charm Bracelets, Religious medals and many other Religious articles which apparently were selling quite well. I also did see this type of product at other stations within the Flea Market. In speaking with the proprietress, I learned that many of the Rosaries are of Bohemian Czech Glass and are being created in Bohemia by a very special family.

The Religious jewelry theme trend has been rearing its head for several seasons, and it was very strongly represented in the European Department and Specialty stores, especially in Paris as early as 2006.

I was visiting Paris to attend the Bijorcha jewelry show and spent some time shopping and scouting out trends featured by the Parisian jewelry designers. I came back from that trip with many ideas which were later incorporated into my collection for Jewelbox Designs.

Over the course of the last few weeks, I have come across several other young men wearing Rosary Beads around their necks. I tend to believe this trend will gain momentum into Spring, and we may see another rebirth of “Madonna Style” from the 80’s as we approach the Fall 2010 Fashion Season.…

How Dental Veneers Are Replaced

But at HDIL Couture week 2010, the king of casting coup pulled a memorable show for his designer brand. Karan Johar and Varun Bahl new line of splendid clothes for men was no less dramatic than a film.

Amitabh dressed in black from top to bottom walked the ramp like a king while Hrithik’s charismatic looks teamed with attire reminiscent of mighty knights and the lords of bygone era left the onlookers spellbound. Yes the collection was inspired by the Victorian era and had formal wears like suits, shirts, overcoats and also men’s accessories.

A Fashion Saga: Wouters and Frieling Join Dries Van Noten’s List of Collaborators

Earlier this week I posted an article on Dries van Noten’s collaboration with photographer James Reeve. Today I want to extend that piece by taking a look at another outstanding collaborative project van Noten did with the typographer Job Wouters (also known as Letman) and visual artist Gijs Frieling.

Gijs Frieling is celebrated for his big and small scale painted murals and installations. He works with several highly-trained and skilled assistants, who are commissioned to help him complete his projects. Regardless of how big or small a mural or installment is, Frieling insists that every stroke of paint is done by hand, with no initial sketches or layouts done on the surface beforehand. In other words, Frieling works in free hand, allowing for a very real and very raw finish, all of which are remarkably close to perfection (who needs a pre-sketch when you have a steady hand?)

Job Wouters is a typographer with a great love for letters. What does a love for letters entail? Well, it entails designs that are free-flowing and colourful, illustrations that lure you into fascination, and graffiti that makes any nay-sayer think of street script more as an art than a nuisance. From campaign and promotional posters to designs for books and album sleeves, Wouters’ designs are welcome in almost every corner of the art world.

Imagine then, with a duo like Frieling and Wouters by his side, what Dries van Noten managed to assemble for his Autumn Winter 2012 collection. Held in the Grand Palais in Paris, France, van Noten’s runway show offered onlookers (and the fashion world at large) a presentation of his new collection that fused the beauty of several different art forms in one location, and during one fluid span of time.

Instead of a traditional runway show, Dries van Noten presented his new collection in a space where Frieling, Wouters and a number of participating artists were simultaneously fully immersed in painting murals onto the walls. As models walked down the makeshift runway, the audience sat on their left and the painters were hard at work on their right. To imagine such a display of artistry, where two crafts are united, is both incredible and inspiring.

As far as the clothes go, van Noten’s collection reflected the colourful and liberal designs of both Frieling and Wouters. “Mens collections the last years are very serious and I wanted to bring a kind of fun, some craziness in the collection,” says van Noten. ” I think in menswear everything is about balance.
