How to Look Younger When You Have Turned 40
When it comes to looking younger, people will inevitably think about plastic surgery. This is a wide ranging catchall term that includes many procedures such as cosmetic laser surgery and the latest, the mid-face lift. It is also known as cosmetic surgery which just means having a surgical procedure for cosmetic purposes. It used to be that having a face lift only applied to the older person but nowadays it can be useful to begin the process earlier rather than later.
There comes a time when, due to the aging processes, the skin may become wrinkled or flabby or both and people will consider cosmetic surgery for the quick fix for, no matter how much moisturiser you use or how many filler injections you get, it will not help you any more and you will have to go under the knife.
A mid-face lift is ideal for those who have turned 40 and although still young, have begun to show the first signs of aging. This affects the triangular region of the ears, eyes and nose and involves a minor tightening of the skin, without cutting any muscle tissue. At this age, the skin will still have some elasticity and collagen which allows a less drastic procedure. Whilst a mid face lift can help to reshape the face, it won’t get rid of wrinkles, which is why it is often used in conjunction with other cosmetic surgery methods, such as Blepharoplasty (eye rejuvenation). This is another surgical procedure, but for the eyes, it is used to remove the excess skin and fat in the eye area, as well as those unsightly bags under the eyes. It is often used when one has a full face lift as well.
There are also some novel inventions that can be used with a mid face lift, such as an inert tape that enables the skin to be kept in place during the healing process which then gets absorbed by the body. Where wrinkles are concerned, a course of filler injections may be of value.
As with any cosmetic surgery, there are some risks involved which is why you should always chose the most experienced surgeon and the best clinic possible. There are people who go on face lift holidays to save money and when they return home, have sometimes found a lot of problems. There has been a warning about India and Pakistan as there have been a few cases of people returning that have a weird little gene called NDM-1 that is resistant to all but two antibiotics and could become a real problem.
Even at home with experienced surgeons and up to date clinics, there can be complications, as with any surgical operation. This is why it is important to follow your surgeons’ directions to ensure that you minimise any possible problems. Sadly, you cannot avoid the pain but with the right medication, it can be kept to the absolute minimum and you will be glad you had that cosmetic surgery when you finally look in the mirror.
